[News] Gloge and Dunin to join Global Game Jam management team

Royal New Jersey, August 15, 2011. The Global Game Jam (GGJ) announced today two new additions to its management team. Laurie Gloge and Elonka Dunin join GGJ as directors, expanding the existing top executive team that already includes directors Zuraida Buter, Foaad Khosmood, Gorm Lai and Ian Schreiber. The GGJ is a project of the International Game Developer’s Association (IGDA). Laurie Gloge joins GGJ from Calgary, Canada. Already a veteran organizer from multiple Global Game Jam events, Gloge has also been involved in the IGDA website redefinition process. Founder of [[http://www.creativecalgary.ca|Creative Calgary]], Gloge brings professional software design and large scale project management skills to the table. “Laurie is very energetic and has been the model GGJ site organizer for us,” said director Foaad Khosmood. “I can think of no better individual to help tackle process improvements, and community relations challenges for GGJ.” Based in St. Louis, Missouri, [[http://www.elonka.com/bio.html|Elonka Dunin]] has a long history of involvement in games and innovation. She co-founded the IGDA online game SIG. Dunin is currently an Executive Producer at Simutronics Corporation, experts at multiplayer online games and makers of CyberStrike, DragonRealms, Fantasy University and the classic GemStone series. Dunin is also famous for her interest in cryptography and famous unsolved codes, such as the Cyrillic Projector Cipher and Kryptos. “Elonka is as clueful and enthusiastic as they come. We're all excited to have her working with us,” said director Ian Schreiber. The GGJ is the largest game jam in the world with over 6,500 jammers in 44 countries participating in 2011. The next Global Game Jam is scheduled for January 27-29, 2012.
