In a world plagued by Pestilence, few brave doctors risk their lives to save humanity.
Pestilence is a synchronous, turn-based strategy game, in which players control either a bio-terrorist, attempting to infect the world with a lethal virus, or the Center for Disease Control (CDC)
fighting to prevent the spread of the disease.
The heartbeat provides feedback for the player regarding the overall level of infection of the world. The more rapid the heartbeat, the more widespread the infection is.
AIM: Bio-terrorist: Get 2 cities to level 3 infection
CDC: Survive 10 turns without losing more than 1 city
There are 11 cities, located around the world. Each city has 3 stages of infection.
Orange: Level 1 infection
Green: Level 2 infection
Once a city is destroyed, it can not be rebuilt.
Each player can take one action per turn. The actions are move, infect/clean, or use a card.
To move, click on a neighboring city to set destination.
The Bio-terrorist can infect 1 level of city per turn
The CDC can clean 1 level of city per turn
Cards that may be used include:
Adjacent clean/infect: Clean or infect an adjacent city
Move 2: Move 2 spaces in the one turn
Immunity: City is immune from infection for 2 turns.
Mutation: City can not be cured for 2 turns.
Quarantine: Players can not enter or leave a city for a turn, and infection can not be increased.
Raise Infection: Raise an infection level by 1, for all currently infect cities.
Players can have a maximum of 4 cards in their hand at a time. Cards can be discarded at any time.
