Game: Lub Vs Dub (iPad)

(Video Coming Soon) A 2 player competitive iPad game. Lub & Dub (the name of our characters, and also the actual names of the individual sounds that make up the heart beat) traverse the same ECG line, avoiding the pulses and murmurs, collecting power ups, and gathering hearts to win. The player has 3 controls - jump, flip and trigger. Jump jumps, but flip flips. Flip around to the other side of the ECG line, and your jump is now reversed. Soon enough, you can master the lightning quick flips and jumps to outplay your opponent. Several 'Powers' are available to use: Flatline - Send out a charge that neutralises all pulses, creating temporary safe passage and also damaging an opponent in the way. Invert - Flip all pulses currently on the line - precise timing will cause your opponent to get hit, or get you out of danger. Cryo - Slow the opponent down to a halt temporarily - they are unable to jump or flip, exposing them the oncoming dangers. This is an iPad game through and through, and whilst attempts were made immediately after the jam to make an online playable version for PC, it will need some work to prepare it. However the complete GameSalad project is available, so if you are equipped with an iPad (only 1st Gen tested so far) and an Apple Dev License - Build the GS viewer and run the game. We reckon its worth the effort! :) It's went down very well with everyone who played it, instantly hooking people and bringing out the rivalry! Update: We won Glasgow Game Jam's 'Best Tech' and 'Best Game' with this project - thanks Judges!!! Over the moon! :)

Diversifiers

Stay Inside The Box: The whole game takes place in just one screen, no scrolling or changing screens in any way is allowed.
Backwards: One or more aspects of the game works the opposite as would normally be expected: maybe the controller is reversed (left is right, right is left), maybe you win lives every time you die, maybe it scrolls to the left and your character moonwalks.
More the Merrier: The game is a competitive or cooperative multiplayer "party game" (i.e., based on minigames, humor, 4+ players, audience engagement, etc.), meant for one screen or more.

Run the GameSalad project (which contains all assets too). Build the GS Viewer (if you gavent already) on your iOS Device (only 1st Gen iPad tested as yet) and preview the game. Please note this requires an Apple Developers Licence and your device unlocked for Dev/Provisioning.
