Game: Kokeshi (こけし)

Kokeshi is a rhythm action game where two players must put their latent koto and taiko skills to use in order to bring to life a giant kokeshi doll. The currently uploaded version took about 24 hours during the game jam for coding, graphics and finding and editing of sound samples. It is still missing key gameplay features so is more of a music toy than a proper game. I hope to complete the game over the next day or two.

Approved for All Audiences: The game must not show any violence, not even cartoonish. Stepping on living mushrooms is off the list, as is killing any type of enemies, not even undead, though we know they’re already dead…
May the (Web) Force Be with You: The game runs in a browser with no plugin.

Extract the files to a directory on your computer and run in a web browser.

I've only tested it in Chrome so far, so god knows how it runs in Firefox, Opera, Safari or, heaven forbid, IE.

Although it can be run off the web, the sounds don't seem to play back promptly, which ruins it completely, so I removed the web link.

Web standard (Html5, Java, JavaScript, Flash)
The game is entirely written in Javascript and built on an existing codebase I made to create simple games, which contains simple utilities for commonly used things such as sprites, a game loop, sound etc.
